About Linweld: Company History
David Breslow founded Linweld in
1945 as the Lincoln Welding Supply Company with the purpose of providing
welding supplies and industrial gases to customers in Lincoln, Nebraska
and the surrounding rural communities. From its modest beginnings with
five employees and one truck, Linweld has expanded to a company with multiple
sales, service and manufacturing locations. Throughout its history, the
company has always taken pride in offering the most current technology,
competitive prices and knowledgeable sales people in the markets it serves.
Continually
exceeding customers' expectations has allowed Linweld to become one of
the largest welding supply distributors and independent processors of industrial,
medical and specialty gases in the United States. Since 1945, the company
has opened store and plant locations in over twenty cities. Today, the
company has a fleet of transport and delivery vehicles as well as over
four hundred employees who are dedicated to serving welding and gas markets
in eight midwest and mountain states.
In addition to its sales and service
locations, Linweld operates its own distribution center, air separation
plant, acetylene plant, specialty gas department, and state-of-the-art
training and automation center. Linweld is also one of the few
distributors in the country able to produce oxygen, nitrogen and argon
via its own air seperation plant. The acetylene plant converts over 40,000
pounds of calcium carbide each week in supplying cylinder acetylene to
all Linweld locations and customers.
Linweld's Specialty Gas Division
features staff chemical engineers who are available to work with customers
on specific applications and purity requirements. Once again, Linweld's
production capabilities allow the company to maintain strict control of
quality and costs.
The David Breslow Training Center
was designed with an emphasis on the training, safety and continual education
of Linweld employees and customers. The tiered auditorium and welding laboratory
offer a great environment for learning. The recent addition of the Automation
Center, at the same facility, reflects the company's continued dedication
to welding and cutting automation.
Linweld is proud to be a leader
in the welding and compressed gas industry and continues to look for new
markets and areas of expansion. The company's success and growth is attributable
to employees who believe in earning their customers business.....every
day.
